It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond George Vincent. Ray died peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre on Tuesday, December 31st, 2019 in St. John’s, NL at the age of 82. Ray was born on May 29th, 1937, to Edward and Ethel (O’Reilly) Vincent. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Joan (Mallard) of 51 years who was taken from us November 2nd, 2019. Ray grew up in St. John’s and upon marriage to Joan, moved to Toronto. In 1973, they returned to St. John’s to care for Ray’s mother and raise their family. Throughout his life, Ray had several passions, including racing horses, rabbit hunting with beagles, and gardening around his cherished family home on Bell’s Turn. Ray is survived by his sons Rodney (Suzanne), of Christina Lake, BC, Paul (Heather) of Quispamsis, NB, grandchildren Jack, Clark, Lilah, and Delaney and his sister Doreen (Jenny) Hickey, as well as several nieces, nephews and in-laws. Ray is predeceased by his sisters Marie Blalock, Loretta Hall, Doris Couling, and brothers Jack and Edward (Bud). Thank you to the staff of the St. Patrick’s Mercy Home and staff of the Health Sciences Centre for your compassionate care over the last several months. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11 a.m. from Caul’s Funeral Home Chapel, with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Flowers are accepted and appreciated.
