Premkumar Ramanujam
1968-2019
Premkumar Ramanujam passed away suddenly on
Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019 near his hometown
of Wolfville, Nova Scotia. He was born on May
25th, 1968 in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India.
Prem’s passing is mourned by his beloved wife, Anita, and
two sons, Ajay and Andrew. Prem was the son of Gnani and Govinda
Ramanujam and brother of three siblings of which his sister, Viji, her
husband, Abraham, and their daughters, Abbi (Brian) and Caroline
(Luke), were closest to Prem and his immediate family. After receiving
his Electronics and Communication Engineering degree, Prem spent many
years working as a Project Manager, specializing in server
maintenance. His proudest career moments were working for the Supreme
Court of Singapore and being commended by the Ministry of Health.
After moving to Canada in 2017, Prem continued to work tirelessly for
his family while they pursued their education. Prem loved nature and
felt at home back in India on the beaches on the Bay of Bengal where
he would “sing to God along with the waves of the sea.”
Growing herbs and tomatoes in his garden brought him a sense of peace
and creativity, while walking along nature trails filled him with
life. Prem also loved to cook and host meals for his family, friends,
and co-workers. Serving and providing was his love-language, while his
heart-language was Tamil. Prem was very proud of his Tamil heritage.
At the core of Prem’s being was his relationship with Jesus
Christ. In addition to sharing his faith, he would often be singing
and praying to God, inviting others to sing along with him. Prem had a
special warmth to him; a beautiful smile, a welcoming gaze, and a
comforting handshake. The character of Jesus truly shone through him
for all to witness. In addition to Prem’s love for Jesus,
Prem greatly loved his wife, Anita. There was nothing more that Prem
enjoyed than to come home and be with Anita. The family is deeply
appreciative of the support from the surrounding community. The
memorial service, followed by a reception will be held at 2 p.m.
Monday, December 9th, 2019 in the Wolfville
Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Scott Kindred-Barnes officiating. Family
flowers only please. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
