Bornais, Philip Eugene
A longtime resident of Chatham, Philip Bornais passed away by his families side on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Meadow Park Nursing Home in his 79th year.
Born May 28 1940, Philip was the son of the late Hector & Rhea (nee Bissonnette) Bornais. Beloved husband of Marilyn Bornais (nee McGee) for 36 years. Dear father of Lawrence Bornais of Chatham, Vincent Bornais (Janet) of Barrie, Paul Bornais of Winnipeg, Christine Sereda of Kingsville, and step-father of Robert Barber (Christine) of Wallaceburg, Catherine Roberts (Ed Turner) of Chatham, Brenda Roberts (London) and Scott Roberts of Chatham.
Grandfather and step-grandfather of Sarah, Crystal, Cassundra, Christopher, Jake, Hayley, Dawson, Tabitha, Tiffany, Teddy, Robbie, Anthony, Cassandra, Trevor, Manuel, Jordan and Trent.
Great-grandfather of 40.
Brother of the late Pauline Boucher, Patricia Bellaire of Tilbury, and Peter Bornais (Heather) of Winnipeg. Brother-in-law of Roy McGee (Margaret) of London. Survived by his former wife, Ruth Anne Bornais (nee Quenneville). Predeceased by his step-daughter Debbie Barber, step-granddaughter Samantha Shephard, step-great-grandson, Logan Murphy, brother-in-law, Charles & sister-in-law, Eileen McGee.
Philip retired from McKinlay Transport after over 41 years of service as a truck driver. He served as Union Steward for Teamsters Local #880 for over 13 years and was a former Core Cadet Staff Officer with St. John’s Ambulance Service in Chatham.
Family to receive friends on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 7:00 – 9:00 pm at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham. A Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 am on Saturday morning at the Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Maple Leaf Cemetery.
In memory of Philip, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or to the Kidney Foundation.
