On Friday October 18th, 2019 the loved and cherished Patricia Brown (Clyne), my Mother, Sister to my Uncles Reg, Charlie, and Kenny, Aunt to my Cousins and second Mother to my friends – flew back to the rooftops of her birthplace – Bombay (Mumbai) India to be at peace.
My Mother lived a full life, and traveled the world almost in its entirety – The Amazon, Egypt, Greece, and South Africa were on her roster of places that most will never venture to in their lifetime. She thrived as a Travel Agent, avid cook, friend, and woman. Loved to entertain and could make something absolutely incredible out of nothing. Turning the average into the sublime. She was Boho before anyone knew what Boho was…wore the most elegant, simple and classic styles of her time – she made beauty look effortless in every way. Always one to open her door to my friends, her family and to anyone who needed a helping hand – she would advocate for a stranger…and make everyone feel loved in her own unique way. Her and my Uncle Reg (Uncle Bunny) would move the furniture around in the living room during family get-togethers and jive like nobody’s business…relishing in “cutting a rug” with abandon.
Forever my champion, she watched and encouraged me from a distance. Forever a constant in her own way – telling me that I could do absolutely anything I set my mind to. Calling me “Darling” and saying that she will always love me – no matter what. The words that only a Mother can say to a child…and for a child to only truly understand once their beloved one true champion has gone. There are so many things I could say…How she laughed, cried but the most paramount was how she loved…and if you knew her, you would understand this. She loved as vastly and as deeply as the deepest ocean. Forever to be missed and now finally at peace, gone to a place far better than here. “Unable to perceive the shape of you (as you are now), I find you all around me…Your presence fills my eyes (in joy and tears) with your love. It humbles my heart, for you are everywhere”.
You will always be missed Mum, as my love will always remain.
Your loving Daughter – Natasha
