Murray Jerome Horne
1946-2019
HORNE, Murray Jerome –
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of
Murray Jerome Horne age 73, of Little Dover on Wednesday, December 4,
2019, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish,
surrounded by his loving family. Born in Little Dover, he was the son
of Margaret (Haines) Horne and the late Isaac Horne.
Murray was a fisherman in his younger years and worked at the
Canso Fish Plant until health reasons wouldn’t allow him to
continue. Murray enjoyed hanging around the wharf talking to friends,
boating, hunting, being around the yard in the wood pile and being
around family and friends. Murray was known for cracking jokes and
always tormenting someone. He would always make you laugh. His nightly
phone calls will be missed by his mother, Margaret; brother, Emery;
his cousin, Wayne Smith and especially his daughter, Wanda and his
hunting trips with his best friend, Roger George.
Left to mourn is his only daughter, Wanda (Robert) Kavanaugh,
Antigonish; step-daughter, Cathy (Fawn), Enfield; his three precious
grandchildren, Jordan, Benjamin and Kayla. They will never forget your
love; brothers, Winslow (Beatrice), Little Dover; Emery (Donna),
Beaver Bank; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his
father, Isaac; brother, Brantford; common-law spouse, Edna
Rhynold.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 2-4 and
7-9 p.m. on Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral
mass will held 11 a.m. Wednesday from St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church,
Little Dover with Father Jonathan Nnajifor officiating. Burial in the
parish cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Martha’s
Palliative Care Unit or to the Canadian Cancer Society. Words of
