Murray Bateman
of Palmerston passed away surrounded by the love of his family peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Virginia (Reed) Bateman for 62 years. Dear father of Valerie and Ken Hart of Durham, Norma and Danny Galbraith of Palmerston, Terry and Gloria Bateman of Dundalk, Tina and Andy Barlow of Palmerston and Gail and Gerry Godin of Egmondville. Grandfather of Jason Hart, Stacy and Sean Holloway; Holly Galbraith; Jesse Bateman and friend Ariana Megicks, Melanie Mitchell; Elana and Phil Shain, Amber Maxwell and her fiancé Andre Cardosa; Chantalle and Micheal Turgott, Greg Godin and friend Hollie Day. Cherished by his 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Brother of Roy and Leona Bateman and Yvonne and Dennis Evans. Brother-in-law of Florence Chalmers, Shirley and Vic Brush, Beverly Reed. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his brothers Walter, Huey and Robert Bateman and sisters Margaret Bateman, Elda Swayzee and Marjori Konyi.
The family will receive friends at the Heritage Funeral Home, Palmerston on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, December 23, 2019 at the St Paul’s Anglican Church, Palmerston from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy donations to Ronald McDonald House would be appreciated by the family.
