Melvin’s Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the families of Melvin Lloyd Thomas announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, in Corner Brook, NL, on Sunday, December 15th, 2019 at the age of 75 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife; Pauline nee Short, his daughter; Karen (Thane) Earle, and son; Michael (April) Thomas, step-children; Michael (Stephanie) Sceviour, and Leona Sceviour, his grandchildren; Robyn Earle, Georgia Tucker-Thomas, Charley Thomas, Emily Sceviour, Sophia Sceviour, and Daniel Sceviour, his brothers; Larry (Alva) Thomas, Wayne (Valda) Thomas, and Rod Thomas, his brothers and sisters-in-law; Maxine (Jack) Chaulk, Peggy Caines, Sophie Ball, Marg (Pleman) Manuel, Joy Ball, Ellen Ball, and Scott Ball, his mother and father-in-law; Gertie and Roger Short, sisters and brothers-in-law; Mamie (Calvin) Kippenhuck, Melvin (Maxine) Short, Bronson (Irene) Short, Lillian (Winston) Anstey, Wade (Theresa) Short, Aubrey (Lorraine) Short, Nancy (Baine) Pilgrim, and Roger (Rosemary) Short, Melvin was predeceased by his first wife; Louise, son; Darren, his parents; Olive and Clayton Thomas, sisters-in-law; Valetta King, Yvonne Ball, and Carol Ball, and his mother and father-in-law; Ethel and Scott Ball. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, extended families, and friends.
The family will be receiving family and friends at Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL, on Wednesday, December 18th, 2019, from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
The funeral service will take place at The Emmanuel Pentecostal Church on Thursday, December 19th, 2019, at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Jeffrey White officiating with the internment to follow at the Pentecostal section of The Deer Lake Interdenominational Cemetery on Wight’s Road, Deer Lake, NL.
The funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, NL.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Western Memorial Regional Hospital foundation P.0.Box 2005 Corner Brook, NL, A2H 6J7, Att# Parkinson’s Research, in Melvin’s memory would be gratefully appreciated by the family.
