Melba ‘Mel’ Schwarze Date: Thursday December 19 2019

Schwarze, Melba (Mel). (nee Farish) of Port Elgin, ON, aged 78 years
With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother and Nana at the Wiarton hospital on December 19, 2019 due to lung complications. Beloved wife of the late Maurice (Moe) Schwarze (2018). Predeceased twin sister Marcia Rak, brother Bill Farish, father Weldon Farish and mother Laura Lake. Cherished mother to Wendy (Steve) Green; Maureen (Dean) Smith; Anne Marie (John) Macqueen. Nana will also be missed by her grandchildren Michael, David and Ryan Green; Nicole and Matthew Smith; Shailyn and Faith MacQueen; great grandson Daniel Green. Mel was born and raised in Buffalo New York. She moved to Canada with Moe in 1960. She will be greatly missed by her brothers, Charles, Linwood and Ronald Farish and all of her nieces, nephews and extended family. Mel will be fondly remembered by friends and neighbours both old and new and especially by Anne and Sid Clark who together shared their friendship for almost 60 years. Mel’s retirement years have been spent in Port Elgin where her sorority sisters from the Beta Sigma Phi group gave her good friendships, wonderful memories and great support throughout the years. A celebration of life for both Mel and Moe will be held on January 12, 2020 at the Bramalea legion #609, 1133 Queen St. East ON L6T 4E2 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to The Bruce Shrine Club
