Mathilda Marie Lagace Cyr
1924-2019
At Foyer Notre-Dame Nursing Home of Saint-Leonard, December 16, 2019,
Mrs. Mathilda Lagacé Cyr passed away at the age of 95. She
was the widow of Joseph Lagacé by first marriage and of Raoul
Roland Cyr by second marriage. Born at Drummond in 1924, she was
a daughter of the late Arthur and Annie (Beaulieu) Bonenfant.
Mrs. Lagacé Cyr was a member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary of the
Royal Canadian Legion, Lower Southampton Branch#27.
She is survived by 15 children, Rolande (Rival) of Saint-Leonard,
Gilberte ‘Betty’ (Harvey) of Stoney Creek, Ontario, Alice (Albert) of
Belleville, Ontario, Irma (Freeman) of Maidstone, Ontario, Jocelyne
(Robert) of Grand Falls, Diane (Zoël) of Drummond, Guilda (Romeo)
of Plaster Rock, Linda ‘Bébé’ (Mario) of Drummond, Roland
(Mona) of Nackawic, Alcide (Huguette) of Drummond, Julien (Paulette)
of Belleville, Ontario, Roger (Elouise) of Nackawic, Emilien (Wanda)
of Millville, Enoïl of Fort Langley, BC and Camille (Dorothy) of
Middle Hainesville, son-in-law, Yves Leclerc of Drummond, 57
grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren,
two sisters, Marie Levesque (Fidèle) of New Hampshire and Annie
Parent (friend Gaston) of Grand Falls, as well as nieces and
nephews. She is also survived by her second husband’s
family.
She was predeceased by four children, Norma Lagacé, Noëlla
Bernier, Gilbert ‘Bert’ and Noël ‘Moune’, daughters-in-law,
Marie-Mai (late Bert) and Lucille (Roland), sons-in-law, Guildor
Bernier, Léon Bernier, Ron Bernier, Alphonse Bonsant and
Albéo Lagacé, grandchildren, Noël Bonsant, Richard
Bernier, Danny Bernier and Lisa Lagacé, great grandchildren,
Kayla Lagacé, Steven Aubin, Louis Phoebe Ouellette and infant
Aubin twins, sisters, Irène Pelletier, Adèle Pelletier, Alma
Beaulieu, Louise Lavoie, brothers, André, Arthur, Edmond and
Florien Bonenfant.
Resting at O’Regan’s Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand
Falls with visiting hours on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from
9:30 to 11 a.m.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, December 20th at 11 a.m. from
the St-Michel Roman Catholic Church, Drummond, NB with interment in
the adjoining cemetery. Eulogy will be delivered by grandson Peter
Lagacy.

appreciated by the family.
