Obituary for Mrs. Mary Lorraine Collins
Collins, Mary (Lorraine) Born January 29th, 1935 in Brampton, ON and residing in Collingwood, ON. Lorraine passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday December 3rd, 2019 at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband, Orrie Collins, of 59 years. Lorraine was the beloved mother of Mark Collins and his wife Kelly (who was considered a second daughter) and Kimberly and her husband Donald Gurry. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Kelsey (Sheldon), Jessica (Fraser), Kadie (Sam), Nathan (Keira), Curtis (Samantha) and her Great Grandchildren Hudson, Hendrix, Tucker, Emma, Claire and Oliver. Lorraine was the beloved sister of Bob and his late wife Joyce and Brien and his wife Vivian. Her interests focused on family and friends with much time spent reading, playing cards, painting and doing puzzles. Lorraine was never seen without a tea in her hand, had a great sense of humour and made a mean chocolate money cake for all birthdays. A private family service will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, we ask that any donations be made out to Collingwood General and Marine Hospital Foundation who’s nurses and doctors provided amazing care to Lorraine and her late husband Orrie.
