Mary Catherine Sears
1946-2019
It is with profound sadness that we
announce the sudden passing of Mary Catherine
Sears, 73, of Sackville on Thursday, December 12,
2019. Born in Glace Bay, NS, Mary was a daughter of the late
Richard and Christena (MacNeil) MacLellan.
Mary was an active member of the
Sackville United Church.
Mary was a much loved and longtime
member in the Sackville Rotary, working tirelessly with various
fundraisers including the Gold Mine Toonie Draw. She worked
with Re/Max Sackville Realty for thirty years as one of their top
Realtors. She enjoyed an evening of cards with friends and
was avid watcher of Coronation Street. Mary always had time
for her family and friends and to participate in a worthwhile
cause.
Mary will be dearly missed by her
daughter, Mary Elizabeth (Kirk) Sears Sterling, Riverview, NB; her
sisters, Ann ton, and Chris (Carl) MacKeigan; her brother, Richard
(Angela) MacLellan; her sister-in-law, Colleen MacLellan, as well as
many nieces, nephews, cousins and very good friends.
Besides her parents, Mary was
predeceased by her husband, Allan Sears; her step-son, Gwellyn; two
sisters, Penny Atkinson and Peggy Baker, as well as a brother,
Alexander “Sandy” MacLellan.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville (506-364-1300) from where a time of public
visitation will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8
pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on
Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at 11 am with interment to
follow in the Sackville Cemetery. Rev. Lloyd Bruce
presiding.
Donations in memory of Mary may be made
to the Children’s Miracle Network, Sackville Rotary Club Foundation or
a charity of the donor’s choice.
