Marven Demmings
1941-2019
Following a brief illness, Marven Charles Demmings of Aroostook, NB,
passed away at the Upper River Valley Hospital on December 16,
2019.
Marven was born in Perth-Andover, NB, on February 5, 1941. He was the
son of the late Roy and Phyllis (Baker) Demmings. Marven leaves behind
his loving wife, Margaret Demmings (Connors); his sons, Rodney
Demmings (Lynn) and Darryl Demmings (Nicole), both of Aroostook, NB;
his grandchildren, Logan, Dustin, Rebecca, Katelyn, and Alex; his
great granddaughter, Scarlett; his brothers, Clinton Demmings
(Mildred), Roland Demmings (Vicki), and Basil Demmings (Annette
Tapley), all from Aroostook, NB; along with several nices and
nephews.
Marven was predeceased by his parents and by several uncles and
aunts.
Marven was a very active member of his community. He served on
Aroostook Village Council for ten years and was Mayor of the village
for another ten years. He was on the Aroostook Volunteer Fire
Department for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Skedaddle
ATV Club, the Perth-Andover Elks Club, the Royal Canadian Legion,
Branch #36, and Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from
2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 19,
2019 at 11 am from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Father Gilbert
Doddatto celebrating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a
later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations to Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery
Fund, the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Diabetes
Association would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover, NB.
