Amaral, Maria Estrela (nee Sousa)
Our beloved Mom and Grandma passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Macassa Lodge, on Wednesday, December 4th, 2019, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Miguel Amaral for 65 years. Loving mother of Filomena and Manuel Roque, Deolinda Amaral and Briolanja Amaral. Dear Avô of 12 grandchildren, dear Bisavô of 28 great-grandchildren, and Tataravô of 1 great-great-granddaughter. Predeceased by her parents, brother and sister. Survived by her nieces and nephews in Canada, Australia and Azores, Portugal. Maria will be missed by many friends in the Portuguese community. Many thanks to the staff at Macassa Lodge, C2 East, for their care and compassion. A special thank you to The Legion of Mary and to all those friends that kept her in their prayers. Visitation at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL on Friday December 6, from 2-4 and 5-9 p.m. Vigil prayers Friday at 3:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 10:30a.m. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Burlington. In kindness, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated.
