Le lundi 2 décembre 2019, à l’âge de 90 ans, est décédé Marcel Blais. Natif de Québec, Marcel est le fils de Joseph Adjutor Blais et de Marie Adrienne Racine, le frère de Jean-Marie, Roland et Jacques ainsi que l’époux de feu Jeannine Turcotte. En 1953, il a marié sa bien-aimée Jeannine à Québec et est parti faire sa carrière à Picatinny Arsenal à Dover, New Jersey. Diplomé de Seton Hall University, il a travaillé au sein de l’armée américaine à titre de chimiste. Dans sa profession, il a reçu des honneurs et des brevets résultants de ses recherches. Marcel était résident de Newton, New Jersey, de Malone, New York et tout récemment de Valleyfield, Québec. Passionné du hockey, de la motoneige ainsi que de la radio amateur, Marcel a toujours fait face à la vie avec humour, positivisme et avec une grande foi. Il laisse dans le deuil, ses fils André et Richard (Stephanie Echols), sa fille Nancy, ses petits-enfants Justin (Ashley Chargin), Renée (Richard Adams), Kristen, Emersyn, Zacharie et Gabrielle, ses arrière-petits-enfants Easton et Bishop, ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces, parents et amis. La famille accueillera parents et amis, le samedi 14 décembre de 9h à 10h40, au Salon Funéraire Rodrigue Montpetit & Fils Inc. Les funérailles bilingues suivront en l’Église St-Joseph, 16 rue York, Huntingdon à 11h00. Inhumation au cimetière de Malone, New York une date ultérieure. On Monday, December 2, 2019, Marcel Blais passed away at age 90. Born in Quebec City, he is the son of Joseph Adjutor Blais and Marie Adrienne Racine, brother of Jean-Marie, Roland and Jacques as well as husband of the late Jeannine Turcotte. In 1953, Marcel married his beloved Jeannine in Quebec City and left to pursue a career at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, New Jersey. Graduate of Seton Hall University, he worked for the United States Army as a chemist. In his profession, he received honors and patents as a result of his research. Marcel was a resident of Newton, New Jersey, Malone, New York, and more recently Valleyfield, Québec. Passionate about hockey, snowmobiling and amateur radio, Marcel always faced life with humour, positivity and with great faith. He leaves to mourn his sons André and Richard (Stephanie Echols), his daughter Nancy, his grandchildren Justin (Ashley Chargin), Renée (Richard Adams), Kristen, Emersyn, Zacharie and Gabrielle, his great grandchildren Easton and Bishop, as well as many nephews, nieces, family and friends. The family welcomes relatives and friends on Saturday, December 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. at Rodrigue Montpetit et Fils Funeral Home. A bilingual funeral service will follow at St-Joseph Church, 16 York Street, Huntingdon at 11:00 a.m. Burial in Malone, New York to follow at a future date.
