Obituary of Lois Mary MacRae
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Lois Mary MacRae on December 3, 2019. Lois was born in Bloomfield, New Brunswick on April 6, 1947. Lois is the daughter of Hazel and Thomas Mercer.
A loving mother and homemaker, Lois was a remarkable baker and enjoyed her vegetable garden and making preserves. Her unique personality kept her family and those who loved her on their toes and laughing.
Lois is survived by her husband of 53 years, R. Garey MacRae and their three children, Keith MacRae and wife Francine, Bonnie MacRae, Robert MacRae and wife Cheryl. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Mariah, Robert Jr., Sam, Brianna and Brody, her sisters, Eileen (Doug), Eva (Anthony), Lauretta (Charles) and Netty (Lloyd) and brother Barry, brothers in-law Keith (Susan), Gordon (Gayle predeceased) and sister in-law Sandra. Along with her parents; she is predeceased by her siblings: Clara, Everett, Henry, Clinton, John, Isabelle, Audrey, Aubrey and Donald.
Lois is also survived by many friends and caregivers at the Provost Long Term Care facility, Community Support and Hospital who lovingly cared for her during the last 9 years. She was fondly known as Lo Lo.
The family wishes to express their greatest and warmest gratitude to Dr. S. Malan, all of the care providers at Provost LTC and hospital, as well as, everyone who cared for Lois. The family has chosen to follow Lois’ wishes and therefore there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Provost Long Term Care in Memory of Lois MacRae on the memo line.
