Leonard Michael Prior
On Tuesday, December 24, 2019, Leonard Michael Prior, loving son and brother passed away peacefully at the age of 65 years. Leonard was born on July 5, 1954 in Edmonton, Alberta to Patrick and Mary Prior. He was a quality control inspector for Alta Steel for many years before retiring early to live in Mundare, Alberta. Leonard had a passion for painting. He also loved to watch NASCAR and work on various trucks he accumulated over time. He was also an avid music lover and played the organ in his youth. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
Leonard is survived by his mother, Mary; brothers, Wesley and David; his good friend, Danny Zotzman and many cousins. Predeceased by his father, Patrick.
The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff of Saint Joseph’s General Hospital, in particular, Dr. David Strydom of Vegreville.
A Funeral Service, officiated by Reverend Don Bodnar will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paraskevia Ukrainian Catholic Church, 8 miles north of Smoky Lake on Secondary Highway 855 and 1 mile west of TWP Rd. 610 RR 274. Interment to follow in Church Cemetery.
In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s General Hospital, 5241 – 43 Street, Vegreville, AB T9C 1R5.
