Peacefully at Smiths Falls Hospital on Sunday December 1, 2019. Leon Burns of Elgin, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Lois Trotman. Loving father of Bonnie (Kenneth) Mainse, Danny (Vikki) Burns, Dale Burns, Blake (Carol) Burns, and Leasa Burns (Mac). Dear brother of Arthur Burns of Lyndhurst. Predeceased by his parents Jim and Edna Burns, sister Beulah, brothers Vernon, Ronald, Milton, and Raymond Burns. Dear grandfather of Wade (Jessica), Jeffery (Angela), Angie (Brent), Adele (Jeff), Emily (Dan), Tara (Mike), Holly (Alex), Cody (Emily), Erin (Eric), Leah (Brandon) and great grandfather of Lindsay, Nolan, Blake, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Alex, Cole, Kieran, Mikala, Curtis, Chance, Daniella, Evie, Calvin, Wyatt, Skylar and Emmie. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Scotland Funeral Home, 27 Main Street, Elgin on Friday after 10 o’clock until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 12 noon. Interment Olivet Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations made to Chrohn’s and Colitis Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
