Memorial Donation
Kendell, Kimberely Anne
Wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away suddenly on December 29th, 2019 at the age of 47.
Born in Stephenville, Newfoundland to Mary Florence (née Hynes) and John Bradley Kendell on September 24th, 1972, Kim was the eldest of three children. Raised in Toronto, Ontario and Abraham’s Cove, Newfoundland, Kim settled in Piccadilly, with her husband and high school sweetheart, Tommy Hynes, and their two children Brandon and Bradley.
Kim graduated from College of North Atlantic in 2002, and entered the field of community development. A passionate advocate for youth, Kim worked tirelessly in her role with Community Youth Network for nine years, impacting and inspiring countless people in the community. Kim later transitioned to a career as a Youth Outreach Worker with Western Health, and in 2016, was awarded the Canadian Mental Health Association-Newfoundland and Labrador Leadership Award for excellence in mental health leadership.
Kim was a kind, supportive, listening ear to many, but also a force to be reckoned with. She was a larger than life presence, her smile and unique sense of humour lit up every room she entered, and her laughter surrounded you.
Kim will be forever remembered by the love of her life, Tommy Hynes, and their sons Brandon and Bradley. Predeceased by her father, Kim is survived by her mother, siblings Byron (Tami) Kendell and Chrissy (David) Patrick, mother and father-in-law Mary and Tom Hynes, brother-in-laws, Jamie (Jackie) and Jason Hynes, and a large network of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, coworkers and an entire community she worked to encourage and support.
Viewing and visitation to take place Friday, January 3 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at Russell’s Funeral Home on Prince Rupert Drive in Stephenville. A celebration of life will take place this summer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Aunt Jean’s Place would be appreciated by the family.
