Kenneth Douglas Doug Reid 19442019

Kenneth Douglas “Doug” Reid
1944-2019
It is with sad hearts that the family announces the passing
of Kenneth Douglas Reid (Doug) in the early morning hours of December
16th in Vernon, BC, after a short illness. Doug was born to the late
Kenneth and Louise Reid in Sus, NB on July 19, 1944.
Doug will be dearly missed by his wife Jennifer. Survived by
his siblings James (Jacqui) Reid of Toronto, ON, John Reid of
Fredericton, David (Linda) Reid of Fredericton, Andrew (Paula) Reid of
Guelph, ON, Anne (Steven) Meade of Fredericton. Doug is also survived
by his children Steven, Cindy (Kevin) Wezenbeek of Greenwood, NS,
Michael (Donna) Reid of Calgary, AB and Donald Acton (Marlo) of
Bulyea, SK and many grandchildren, great–grandchildren,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
He had many fond memories of time spent with relatives. He
especially enjoyed reconnecting with Aunts’ Bernice Wallace
and Vivienne Tabor as well as cousin Annie Buck. Doug spent a lifetime
driving tractor trailer in Canada, the USA and in what should have
been his retirement years, he drove pilot vehicles leading long, wide
and oversized loads, helping to keep the roads safe. In the end, when
faced with cancer, as he would have often done driving, he put the
“hammer down” and faced it head on.
The celebration of life service will be January 4th, 2020 at
1 pm at the Christ Church Parish Church on Westmorland St, Fredericton
NB. There will be a live feed option available for those not able to
travel. Interment and gathering to be held later in 2020.
