FLATT, Julie Lynn
With heavy hearts Julie’s family has to announce her unexpected death on Monday, December 16th, 2019 at Southlake Regional Health Centre.
Devoted daughter of the late Cecil and Dorothy (nee Clarke). Loving sister of Whendy, Gladys, Cindy and Debra. Best friend of Cathi since childhood… 53+ years. (AKA sister #6). Best aunt Maddie (Andrew) and best great aunt of Lila, Ellie and Ava. Treasured Godmother of and her namesake, Aimee Lynn (Derek). Special aunt and great aunt of many other nieces and nephews that she loved and loved her. Julie will also be missed by her many cousins and other extended family. Julie’s lifelong work involved the Canadian Mental Health Association. She was the coordinator of many mental health projects across Canada. Julie travelled all across Canada and spoke at many symposia while implementing many projects that helped so many people living with mental illness. Julie will be missed by her many colleagues because of her knowledge, care and compassion. Julie was an advocate for all living creatures. Her favourite, of course, was dogs. She is now reunited with Mickey, Baron and Pepper.
At Julie’s request cremation has taken place and a private family gravesite ceremony will be held at a later date.
Any donations in Julie’s name can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
