It is with great sadness that the loving family of Joyce Colene Buckmaster, 82, of Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg, announces her passing on Friday, November 01, 2019 at Harbour View Haven.
Born in Harmony, Queen’s County, Joyce was the daughter of the late Charles and Mina (Weagle) Buckmaster.
Joyce received her earlier education in Lunenburg and then went on to attend Normal College in Truro. After graduating in 1959, she taught school in Garden Lots, Maitland and Dayspring.
Joyce was a member of St. John’s Anglican Church, Lunenburg where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir. Music was very important in Joyce’s life as she always enjoyed singing. She will truly be missed by all her family and friends.
She is survived by a sister, Sylvia Wile, Bridgewater, brother, Michael (Pat), of First Peninsula and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and a brother Charles and brother-in-law, Roy Wile.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. # 3, Lunenburg, where funeral service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Rick Pryce, officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Lunenburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Anglican Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
