Passed away peacefully at the Mindemoya Hospital in his 84th year after a courageous battle with cancer.
Survived by his daughter Darlene (Lee) Hayden of Manitoulin Island and son Dwayne Raynard of Brussels, Ontario.
Beloved grandpa of Adam (Kirstina) Hayden of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Adrienne (Ken) McNamara of Coppercliff, Ontario, Alex Raynard (Phil Mowat) of London, Ontario,Josh Raynard of Tiverton, Ontario and Emma Raynard of Listowel, Ontario.
Special great grandpa of Alden and Emma McNamara and Everett Hayden.
He was a loving and devoted for 29 years to Shirley Brown presently of Evansville.

Grandpa to Sarah (Rob) Eckert, Kristina Brown, Kurtis (Jessica) Brown. Karolyn (Marco) Jardimand Kelsie (Matt Campbell) Brown.
Great grandpa to Caden, Conner, Eva, Emilia and Elena.
Also Buddy Joe to neighbour Ejay Bailey.
Survived by sister in law Sue Raynard of Fordwich. Nieces Christine, Pauline, Anne(Doug), Joane, Wendy, Alana (nee McFarlane). Nephews Steven (Bonnie) and Michael Leith and all of their children and grandchildren.
Brother in law Bob (Joyce) Alexander of Ethel, Dona (Jim) knight of Brussels,John (Lois) Alexander of Cardston, Alberta and all of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Also survived by many cousins.
Predeceased by his wife Beatrice Alexander in 1991, parents Sylvester and Christina Raynard, brothers Don McFarlane, Tom Raynard and Bill (Raynard ) and sister in law Evelyn,sister Barbara Leith and brother in law Paul, nephew Jamie Raynard and many cousins.
Joe was a humble, modest man who liked to live life simply and was always ready to lend a helping hand. He worked as a CNR Rail Conductor from 1956-1971, farmed from 1971-1986 then worked a couple of years in construction and finally worked as a rural newspaper delivery for the KW Record from 1988-2003. In 2005 he and Shirley move from Listowel to Manitoulin Island.
In his younger years he excelled at and played sports. In particular softball, fastball, slow pitch, soccer and especially hockey. A sport for which he was revered as being “lightening on ice”. In later years he coached sports and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, walking and dancing with Shirley at their dance group and other functions.
In accordance with Joe’s wishes cremation has taken place.
Interment in the spring in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Ethel, Ontario
Celebration of life will be held at 11am December 24, 2019 at the Burpee Mills Complex, 5 Bailey Line Road, Evansville.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mindemoya Hospital Aux or charity of your choice.
