Obituary of John Rosager Moldrup
John Rosager Moldrup was born on February 12, 1960 in Kirke Helsinge Denmark at the home of his parents Svend Aage and Magda Moldrup. John was the eldest of three children and was raised on the farm which essentially was his greatest passion. After his schooling, John worked on grain, dairy, beef and hog farms. John was a training Sargent in the Danish Army from 1980-1982. In the fall of 1982 John was a trainee with IAEA which allowed him to travel the world while working on farms in Australia and Canada. Upon this trip John met Connie (Hastie) travelling on the same exchange. John and Connie were engaged and shortly after John returned to Denmark to clear immigration. They were married March 24,1984 and returned to Denmark for their honeymoon. Together they worked on a hog farm in the Lacombe area. September 1992, his sons Cody and Brent were born. John’s dream of owning a farm became true May 15,1995 in the Carbon area. His youngest son Shane was born in July 1995. John was a very hard worker and was continually striving to learn new things. John operated a sprayer for many years in the area. He enjoyed trucking for a few businesses in the area. He was the happiest when he was contributing. John returned to Denmark many times over the years. John was most proud of his sons, all graduating University and establishing their careers. Through the years of fighting the disease, John told many, “looks can be deceiving.” He continued to be a mystery to the doctors for his strength and perseverance by continuing to fight through a disease they did not understand how to treat. He will be the road map for others to follow. Many were amazed with his strength shown by his actions including calving the cows in the spring, hauling his cows to pasture this June and the demo work for the house renovations. John enjoyed travelling with his family to see new places or simply going for a drive. John passed away on December 7, 2019. He will forever be missed by his wife of thirty-five years, Connie, and sons Cody, Brent and Shane. He was predeceased by his parents and parents in law. He is survived by his brother Finn, sister Susanne in Denmark, extensive relatives and friends from Canada and Denmark. A special thank you goes to the medical team, home care nurses and professionals in Tom Baker Cancer Center and the Drumheller Heath Center.
