Passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Markdale, on Friday December 6, 2019. John Sylvester Black of R.R.1 Markdale, in his 89th year.
Beloved husband of Rita Black (nee Sadlo). Dear father of Mary Richardson (Cam), George (Kimberley), Paul (Suzie), Margaret Torry (John), Thelma Woolley (Ren), Michael (Patty), David (Bev), Theresa Rodman (Rick), Catherine Connell (Dan), Elizabeth Thompson (Michael), John W. (Andrea), Christine Dixon (John) Jennifer Leahy (Doug). Loving grandfather of 64 and great-grandfather of 19.
The family will receive friends at the May Funeral Home, Markdale on Sunday from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, Glenelg Centre on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 11:00 am. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, followed by a reception at Durham Community Centre, 451 Saddler St. West, Durham.
