John Poulain
1922-2019
John Angus Poulain, 97, of New Glasgow, passed away Saturday,
December 7, 2019. Born October 26, 1922 in Thorburn, he was a son of
the late George and Annie (Reid) Poulain. He was a retired Circulation
Manager with the Evening News and woodworking instructor at Summer
Street Industries. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Mildred
(Charlton) Poulain; daughters: Shirley (Ron) McNeill, Abercrombie;
Sherry (Bernie) Berube, Vernon, BC; son, John (Heather) Poulain,
Stellarton; grandchildren: Mark (Desirea) McNeill; Chris and Katelyn
Berube; Jacqueline (David) Sobey; 2 great-grandchildren; brother,
Charles Poulain, Stellarton. He was predeceased by a sister, Marion
(James) Meikle. Special thanks to Dr. Melanie McCara; staff of High
Crest Place for your loving care; staff of Palliative Care at the
Aberdeen Hospital. There will be no visitation or funeral by request.
Family burial will take place in Abercrombie Cemetery. Donations in
his memory may be made to the Pictou County SPCA or Aberdeen
Palliative Care Society. Arrangements are under the direction of the
R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
