Mark Robert Jenkinson passed away on Nov 30, 2019 at his home in Duncan B.C. at the age of 68, following an extended illness and struggle with COPD.
Mark was born on December 5,1950 to Jack and Connie Jenkinson in Duncan B.C. Mark was raised in the Cowichan Valley and spent all of his life on Vancouver Island. He will be greatly missed by his daughters Jenny (Mitch), Amber (Michael) and Willow ( McKenzy) , grandchildren Emily, Katie, Aolyn, Revan and five great grand children. Also left to mourn are Willow and Amber’s Mom Laurel Bohart, sisters Brenda McAneeley (Todd) and Beverley Taylor (Rupert) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Always a free spirited and very intelligent individual Mark had many interests and passions. He was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He cared greatly for his faithful canine companion Butch. Mark also loved cooking especially, his mother’s famous meatloaf, learning new languages and gardening. His green thumb and love of gardening were fulfilled by his many years spent working at Providence Farm in their greenhouse and nursery- he is fondly remembered as a kind and caring man by his friends and coworkers there. Many people described Mark as quite a character who loved to tell stories.
There is no funeral service scheduled at this time.
There will be a private family gathering to be held sometime in the future. In lieu of flowers a donation to any animal charity in Mark’s name would be appreciated. Arrangements c/o H.W. Wallace Cremation & Burial Centre.
