Fournier, Jean Mildred (Christy)
February 8, 1932 – December 10, 2019
Jean Mildred Fournier (Christy) passed away at Brockville General Hospital, Charles Street site, on December 10, 2019, at the age of 87.
Jean, a 1953 graduate of the Ontario Hospital School of Nursing, spent most of her career at the renamed Brockville Psychiatric Hospital, working as a Registered Nurse.
She was predeceased in 2010 by her husband and travelling partner Fred. Loving mother of daughter Gail, and son Chris, both of Brockville. Grandma and Great-Grandma to Jamie (Alain) Girouard and their children Claire, Leo and Emma of Brockville; and Christy (Mark) Edgely and their children Ben and Jacob, of Prescott. Survived by sister Irene (late Jack) Tennant of Brockville. Predeceased by parents Alberta and William Christy, and by her siblings and their spouses Beatrice (Neil) Bullen of Kingston, Jim (Irene) Christy of Brockville, Gerry (Evelyn (George Harding)) of Arnprior. Survived by sister-in-law Lillian Fournier of Brockville and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be remembered fondly by many from the BPH Alumni, CWL St. Francis Parish, Brockville Branch 96 Legion, Club 85 and many friends made during her travels.

Family and friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Sunday from 3 – 6 p.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be Celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church on Monday December 16, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In memory of Jean, donations to the Operating Fund of the Brockville Royal Canadian Legion Branch 96 or charity of choice would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
