Peacefully, at Glengarry Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 24, 2019 at the age of 87. Howard passed away just in time to spend “Christmas in Heaven” with his beloved wife of 65 years, the late Catherine Reed (née Hutchison); who passed away last January and with whom he had never spent a Christmas apart, not even while he was stationed oversees. Loving father of Donna Schofield (Brian), Catherine Mitchell (Fred), Dianne Triggs (Russell) and Howard Reed (Heather). Proud grandfather of Jennifer McDougald (late Scott), Samantha Calder (Byron), Stephen Mitchell (Morgan), Ashley Laferriere (Shawn), Ryan Triggs (Denise), Tara Triggs, Amanda Triggs, Cloey Reed; and great grandfather of Amberlyn McDougald, Brynn McDougald, James Weller, Kinoah Mitchell, Triya Mitchell, Bane Mitchell, Whitney Laferiere, Aspen Laferiere, Evelyn Triggs and Ruby Triggs. Dear brother of Joan Cope (late Fred), the late Norman (Sandra). Son of the late Henry Niles Reed and the late Mariam Louise (née Jolley) Reed. Howard will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. A private celebration of Howard’s life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
