Helen Dyck (nee Hildebrand) was the fifth child of Heinrich Hildebrand and Helena (Peters) and grew up in the Gouldtown, Saskatchewan area. As a young girl she attended the River Dell school and was a huge help on her mom and dad’s farm. Following secondary school, she earned her teaching certificate and taught in various schools in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Following the loss of her husband in 2009, she moved from Torrington, Alberta to the Kiwanis Manor in Olds, Alberta. In November of 2016, she made the move to the Mountain View Lodge just across the way from the Manor. In every place Helen lived, she was socially active and was a delight to her friends. Helen is survived by her children, Lee-Anne Groves (Morris), Richard Dyck (Suzanne) and Earl Dyck (Marianne), her grandchildren Carley Comrie, Cristy Reed, Julie Andersen (Cody), Joel Dyck (Debby), Bryan Dyck, Nathan Dyck (Sarah), Josiah Dyck, Matthew Dyck, Janessa Teichroeb (Donavon), Jason Dyck and 7 great-grandchildren.Helen is predeceased by her husband, Diedrich Dyck (Dick), her sister, Gertrude Harder, her brothers, Henry Hildebrand, Jake Hildebrand and Isaac Hildebrand, her brother-in-law Isbrandt Harder, and her sisters-in-law, Lydia Hildebrand, Vera Hildebrand, and Mona Hildebrand.
Helen’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude for all the thoughtful expressions of love and kindness by relatives and friends during their time of loss and bereavement.
