The passing of Hannah Lydia Stairs of Douglas, NB, wife of the late Lynn Stairs occurred on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Hospice House, Fredericton, NB. Born on July 20, 1926 in Dumfires, NB, she was the daughter of the late Gideon and Maud (Quigg) Stairs. She was a Teacher, Homemaker and Missionary who was known for her hospitality and prayer life.
Hannah is survived by her daughter, Sharon Anderson (David); son Dean A. Stairs (Stephanie); grandchildren, Michael Anderson (Rachael), Michelle Hohl (George), Melody Renouf (Adam), Jasmine, Riley (Melanie), Courtney Grove (Caleb), Victor, Bonnie, Elizabeth, Georgia, Charlotte and Samuel Stairs; great-grandchildren, Peyton and Elyse Anderson, Lily and Emerson Hohl, Gideon, Sybil, Nathaniel and Caleb Renouf and Lydia Grove. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by infant son, Ian Stairs; grandson, Gideon Stairs; sister, Pauline Winter; brothers, Hollie and Ondon Stairs.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 3-6 pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Douglas Baptist Church on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11 am with Rev. Peter Moore officiating. Interment will take place at the Dayton Cemetery at a later date. Special thank you to Hannah’s church family, the staff at Extra Mural, especially Melisa and Trish and also to the staff at Hospice House. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Baptist Ministries or the Village of Hope. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
