Obituary
It is with great sadness we mourn the passing of a wonderful sister, wife, mother and friend.
From humble beginnings in rural Saskatchewan, to city girl who travelled the world, Gladys’ life was filled with adventure. From Holland to Malaysia, England to Australia, and many stops in between, she enjoyed new experiences. Her creativity shone through in her paintings, drawings and other works of art. Gladys’ competitiveness was evident at the card table; playing bridge, gin rummy and even the odd game of poker. Her love of the outdoors was lifelong. Whether it was on the hiking trail, in the garden, at the campsite, or going for walks, she thrived in the sunshine. A great cook, she always welcomed family and friends to share a meal.
Gladys is survived by her sister Elsie; her daughter Chris (Pete); her son Bruce (Vicky); and her grandkids Natalie, Nick and Brandon. She was predeceased by her husband Al; her brother Paul; and her sister Lucy.
No memorial service is being planned at this time. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Calgary Food Bank (www.calgaryfoodbank.com/).
