Obituary of Gerard Omer Daniels
Daniels: Gerard Omer –
A resident of Ridgetown, Gerard Daniels passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on December 21, 2019 at the age of 92.
Born in Dover Township, Gerard was the son of the late Omer and Valcia (Moore) Daniels.
Beloved husband of 70 years to Lillian Daniels (nee Mlynek).
Dear father of Ron, Don (Julie), Jerry (Judy), and Joe (Barb) Daniels.
Loving grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Dear brother to Ivan (late Rosemary) Daniels of West Lorne and Raymond (late Mary) of British Columbia. Brother in law to Bob (Mary) Mlynek of Ridgetown.
Predeceased by brother Reginald (Bernadette) Daniels, sister Bernita (Frank) Kuni, and brother in law Frank (Dorothy) Mlynek.
Gerard owned and operated Central Garage in Ridgetown for 15 years before establishing Daniels Service Centre in 1971. Gerard was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and was a Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Ridgetown Council 8435.
Family will receive family and friends at McKinlay Funeral Home 76 Main St. in Ridgetown on Friday December 27, 2019 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Knights of Columbus and vigil prayers will take place at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church 26 George St. in Ridgetown on Saturday December 28 at 11:00am with Father John Juhl officiating. Cremation will take place with a private interment at a future date.
Donations made in memory of Gerard to the Chatham Kent Hospice Foundation or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
