Obituary of Gerald Joseph McDonald
MCDONALD, Gerald Joseph- Age 69 of Dartmouth passed away November 26, 2019 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. He was a son of the late Donald and Glenora McDonald. Gerald was a friendly man who loved to talk to people. He was a loving and caring father, husband and brother, who loved his children. He was a man of faith, who went to mass every morning and was a Knight of Columbus in Lakeside. He enjoyed keeping a clean and neat car, taking long drives in the summer to Queensland Beach and listening to the golden oldies. He loved watching hockey and rooting for his favourite team the Boston Bruins. He is survived by his wife Gloria Penny; son, Bradley McDonald, Halifax; daughter, Gillian McDonald, Halifax; brothers, Roger (Nancy) McDonald, East Lawrence town and Paul (Lynn) McDonald, Cole Harbour; sisters, Elaine (Don) Batten, Truro and Maureen (Don) Staples, Lower Sackville; along with many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., In keeping with Gerald’s wishes there will be no visitation, A funeral service will be held on Thursday December 5, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Benedict Parish, 45 Radcliff Drive, Halifax, NS, with a reception to follow. An internment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mental Health Foundation of Halifax or Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia.
