Barrett: Gerald James, Lower L’Ardoise
It’s with sad hearts we announce the passing of Gerald James Barrett of Lower L’ Ardoise at the V.G. Hospital, in Halifax on Wednesday Dec. 18. Born in Dartmouth he was the son of the late: Joseph and Agnes (David) Barrett. He was a Bell Hop at the Park Plaza Hotel in Toronto for 30 plus years. After retiring from there he returned to Lower L’Ardoise where he worked in construction.
He is survived by Three Daughters, Melinda Barrett of Lower L’Ardoise, Richmond Co., Michele Barrett, New Lowell, Ontario and Mellissa (Raymond) Bona of Grand River, Richmond Co.
Grandchildren: Jeffery Smith, Jenny Lee Smith, Nadine (Yavuz) Yildiz, Darryl Bona(Keri Poirier)
Great grandchildren: Ava, Ivy, Etta and Vincent.
He is predeceased by: His son Nicholas, his Brother: Lester Barrett.
There is a family only visitation in the Holy Guardian Angel Resting Place on Saturday Dec. 21 from 11am till 1 pm at which time there will be a graveside Service in Holy Guardian Angel Parish Cemetery with Father John Yake officiating. Memorial Donations may be made directly to the Strait Richmond Hospital Foundation. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard St. Port Hawkesbury.
