Lisa (Elisabetta) Ballarin (nee Fiorino) passed away on Saturday the 14th of December at Poplar Ridge Pavilion in Trail, BC. Lisa was just a few weeks short of celebrating her 82nd birthday.
Born in 1937 in Grimaldi, Cosenza, Italia, Lisa moved with her mother and younger sisters from Italy to rejoin her father and brother in Trail in August of 1956.
Lisa was passionate about cooking, creating gourmet meals and Italian specialties for family and friends, and worked as a cook for 25 years at the Crowne Point Hotel during its prime, 10 years at Lou’s Bake Shop and finished her career at Napoli Restaurant. Lisa’s greatest love was her family, especially her six grandchildren that she doted upon with kisses, singing, pasta dishes and baking.
Lisa’s death was predeceased by her father and mother, her brother Salvatore, her husband, Giovanni Ballarin. She is survived by her son, Gianfranco and his daughter Liliana (Ken), son Sandro (Lynsey) and their children Josh and Ella, daughter Romina (Glen Norris) and their daughter Madelyn, son Mark (Shannon) and their children Jonathan and Carollynn, sister Libby Maria, sister Liliana (Felice Anselmo) and their children, Filippo (Stephanie) and their son Santino, Silvio (Vendula) and Clorinda, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dr. Miles Smith, and the nurses and care aids at Poplar Ridge Pavilion that cared for Lisa for the past four years of her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
