It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Earl Edward Schwartz on Saturday, December 14th at the age of 83 years.
Earl was born on August 4, 1936, in Canwood, Saskatchewan to Beecher and Ivy Schwartz. His early years were spent on the family farm in Mont Nebo, Saskatchewan, before moving to Melfort at age nine. Earl spent most of his youth on the family farm just northwest of Melfortin the Thatch Creek District. He attended Thatch Creek Elementary School, then for high school attended both Two Rivers Bible Institute (now Nipawin Bible College) and Canadian Nazarene College, then in Red Deer.
Earl married Audrey Grant on July 4, 1958 and settled on the Ted Grantfamily farm while working at the Melfort Experimental Farm in Crop Analysis.During this time, the couple was blessed withthreechildren: Judy in 1959, Laurie in 1962, and Kelly in 1966.In 1971, Earl joined Mutual Life of Canada as a salesman and eventually opened his own agency office. It was here that his love for building relationships began.
In the Fall of 1978, with Judy heading to Winnipeg and Canadian Nazarene College,Earl and Audrey and their two sonsfollowed their hearts to Red Deer where Earl was involved in many business ventures: Mutual Life, driving truck for Guy’s Freightways, managingWestern Battery, service and delivery for Guy’s Pure Water, and then settling back in at Guy’s Freightways where he finally retired in December2018. He loved his days in the shop with Todd, the mechanics, and the drivers, and he developed numerous relationships with folks in the trucking and parts industry.
