Denelda Jane Darling, age 78 of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth on December 22, 2019. Born in Stratford, daughter of the late Wilfred and Elsie (Woodward) Delooze.
Beloved wife of the late William Darling who predeceased her September 24, 2013. Loving mother of Bill Darling (Brenda), Christine Pickering (Jeff). Grandmother of Jessica Bowles (Justin), Blake Darling, Amelia Darling and great grandmother of Korben Bowles. Dear sister of Bob Delooze (Carol), Jim Delooze (Bev). Also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Richard Turner, Christina O’Gorman, Harold Darling (Dyanne), Sylvia Boyd and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by sisters Joyce Turner and Laura Simpson (Jim), brother Ken Delooze (Elaine), sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Sylvia Boyd, Florence McLean (Gerald).
Denelda worked at Dominion Chain until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Stratford. Nellie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending Friday evenings at the Allman Arena watching the Warriors.
Friends and relatives will be received at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Saturday, December 28, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Paul’s Anglican Church or Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth through the funeral home. 519.271.7411 www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com
