Alexander Stewart Clutton, known to all as Stew, passed away Wednesday, December18, 2019, at Strathroy Middle General Hospital in his 85th year.
Father of Brian & Shelley Clutton, Christine MacLean and Cheryl & Steve Edginton. Stew will be missed by his sisters, Betty Ann and Jessie as well as many extended family, friends, and neighbours.
Stew was one of the original members, and one of the only surviving member of the London Auto Modifiers Club. A man who loved cars and attended shows far and wide. Stew’s prized collection included: the Funny Ford (The Pirate), his dragsters, and his Chevelle which he drove daily.
Stew loved to dance, arriving at the local dances with the sign “Chick Magnet” visible on the back of his Chevelle before dancing the night away. An avid local businessman, Stew put back into the community ten fold and was a big inspiration with the Port Franks Optimist Community Centre believing strongly in small-town support.
Family and friends will gather in the new year at the Grand Bend Legion to celebrate Stew’s life. Details to follow.
Arrangements are entrusted to Gilpin Funeral Chapel, 123 King Street East, Forest, Ontario. Please leave a memory or condolence online at www.GilpinFuneralChapel.com
