Clarke; Margaret “Peggy Ann 2019

Clarke – Margaret “Peggy” Ann, age 76, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 30th, 2019, in Liverpool.
Born June 6, 1943, the daughter of the late James and Dorothy Richards.
Peggy grew up in Digby and Halifax, moving to Liverpool in 1961. It was while working at the former Mersey Hotel, that she met Christopher her husband of 58 years. Peggy was an active community member, serving as president of the ACW, Trinity Anglican Church and president of the Queens County Pony Club. She designed and sewed costumes for the Winds of Change helping to bring many artistic productions to life on stage. She was a dedicated volunteer to the Canadian Cancer Society for over 20 years. She spent many hours working with patients themselves, ensuring they were well supported and comfortable. Lastly, she was a long-term volunteer to the Queens General Hospital, welcoming people and helping them find their way to their appointments.
Marriage and motherhood led her into a life of horseshow jumping, high-end gardening, hunting, basketball and dogs – lots and lots of dogs. She was the family’s foundation supporting her husband and daughters – Teresa and Julia – steadfastly as they advanced and grew. She was an amazing grandmother to Claudia and Ian, both of whom loved her dearly and have “missed” Grammie since the reality of Alzheimer’s took hold. And we’d be remiss not to mention her enjoyment of bowling and her regular weekly games with the “Bowling Bags”.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Christopher; daughters, Teresa of Liverpool, Julia (Bradley) Watt of Brookside, NS and by her grandchildren, Claudia and Ian Watt
She was predeceased by a brother, Col. Robert Richards.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Chandlers’ Funeral Home, Liverpool. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 2nd, 2020, at 11:00 A.M. from Trinity Anglican Church, Liverpool. Reverend Judy Cross officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall.
