Margaret (nee Walsh), age
76, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in James River,
Antigonish County in the early morning hours of December 22,
2019.
Beloved mother, treasured wife and faithful friend. She will
be missed by all those who knew her. A champion bowler and noted youth
athlete, she continued to be active even as a grandma. She mastered
the sport of “hall hockey” in between bingo, puzzles,
dispensing wisdom and encouraging faith. Carol was an active member of
the Antigonish Lion’s Club.
She is survived by husband Charlie; daughters Anna, James
River and Irene “Rennie”, London ON; son Charles (Samantha),
Thunder Bay ON. Her departure leaves a hole in the lives of her seven
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and her numerous nieces,
nephews and cousins. One of eleven siblings born and raised in
Charlottetown PEI, she is survived by sisters Eileen and Debbie;
brothers Paul, and Allison.
She was predeceased by her parents; sisters Beverly and
Frances; brothers Donny, Barry, Roland and Pat.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College
Street, Antigonish on Friday, January 10th from
7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be in St. Joseph’s Church, St.
Joseph’s on Saturday, January 11th at
11:00 am with Father Lazarus presiding. Burial in the parish
cemetery.
Her family wishes to thank the Almighty Father for the
blessings of her life, the brevity of her illness, and the gentleness
