Obituary of Betty Wilson
Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Wilson, age 88 of Valley View Villa and formally of Middle River, Pictou County, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 in the Villa.
Born February 12, 1931 on the family farm in Middle River, Betty was a daughter of the late George and Christena (Rundle) Sutherland.
Betty spent most of her working life in the travel business, retiring back to the family farm. She spent a good deal of her time gardening and involvement with the Womens Institute.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Carol Windley (James), son, Allan MacLeod (Elaine), grandchildren, Jaime Windley (Mellisa), Kristy Windley, Nadine MacLeod, Nathan MacLeod (Kelly) and five great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence E. Wilson and first husband, John R. MacLeod and brother, Harold Sutherland.
A special thank-you to the staff of Valley View Villa, second floor, for their kindness and care.
Cremation has taken place. Betty’s family will receive visitors on Saturday, January 4th, at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville, from 1 to 1:45pm, with her memorial service at 2 o’clock from Eagles Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bonnie Langille officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Andrews Cemetery, Gairloch.
