Obituary of Betty Lou Sussey
With heavy hearts, the family of Betty Sussey announce her passing on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born December 4, 1938 in Parrsboro, NS, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Edna (Wasson) Parker.
Betty loved to bake for her family and friends, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, and BINGO. Her most cherished time was spent in the presence of her family.
Betty will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Carol Laurie (Gregory Frigault) and Shelley Sussey (Scott McLaughlin); grandson, Justin Laurie (Ashley Richard); great-grandson, Emerson; special nephew, Bill Parker (Beth), as well as additional nephews and nieces. Besides her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Sussey; sister, Audrey Taylor; and brother, Robert Parker.
Special thanks to Extra Mural services, whose resources allowed Mom to remain at home until the end.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). A committal service will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10 am at Fernhill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a reception immediately following the committal service in Brenan’s Reception Centre. For those who wish, remembrances at SJRH’s Palliative Care Unit or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
