Obituary for Betsy Welsh
Passed away peacefully at Dover Cliffs in Port Dover on Monday, December 30, 2019. The daughter of the late Charles and Gertrude Egan, ELIZABETH ANN “Betsy” WELSH (nee Egan), formerly of Petrolia and Simcoe, was in her 83rd year. Betsy was the loving wife of the late Fred Welsh (1988) and John L. O’Sullivan. She will be missed by her sons Terry Welsh, Robert Welsh, and David (Liz) Welsh, her grandchildren Cory (Elyse) Welsh, Amy Welsh, Sydnie Welsh, and Keely (Michael) Vanhevel, and her great grandchildren Clark Vanhevel and Ellie Mae Welsh. She is survived by her brother John (Margaret) Egan. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Melissa (2015), sister Marie (the late Don) Hunter, and brother Ron (the late Florence) Egan. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia. Visitors will be received prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. and 10:45 am. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) and Parkinson Canada (www.parkinson.ca).
