Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Barry Graham Lovegrove announce his peaceful passing on December 8th, 2019 after his brief illness. Barry was a true renaissance man. Born in England on February 4th, 1944. Schooled in photography. Started his music career touring Europe in 1958. Moved to Canada when he was 21 with $60 in his pocket. Married June Wyatt in 1970. Built a Mustang II aircraft in 1972. Survived a flight test crash in a Jeanie’s Teenie aircraft. Worked at Air Canada for 25 years. Captained a Grampian sailboat. Nature lover. Artistic career took off in watercolor painting, teaching, and TV show hosting. Owned an art store. Major contributor to local newspapers with his photography and poetry. Always a Musician. Survived by his beloved wife June Lovegrove (Wyatt). Loving father to Karen Lovegrove (Bill Tsoublekas) of Notre Dame de L’Ile Perrot, Quebec and Kimberley Lovegrove (Godfrey Tapper) of Kingston, Ontario and Grandad to TJ and Vanessa Tapper and Nicholas and Zoe Tsoublekas. Brother-in-law of Barbara Lovegrove (late Roy); Elizabeth Weir (late Tom) and Gwyneth Wyatt (late Jim). Also survived by nieces (late Jayne) and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Hannah Funeral Home in Tamworth Ontario (613-379-2997) on Thursday, December 12th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service at Newburgh United Church on Friday, December 13th at 11a.m. Reception to follow. Memorial donations (by cheque please) to Morningstar Mission, Napanee Ontario or the Newburgh, Ontario United Church would be appreciated by the family.
