1937-2019
Barbara E. DeLong, wife of Ronald L. DeLong of Eel River Lake, NB
passed away December 11, 2019 at the Upper River Valley Hospital.
Barbara was born at Woodstock, NB in 1937, a daughter of the late
Victor and Elizabeth (Hamilton) Jarvis and was lovingly raised in the
home of her aunt and uncle, Josie and Fred Cunningham. She loved her
family, her church, the fellowship of the Debec Tuesday Quilting Group
and living at the lake with her family beside her.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her children, Lori
Purvis (Charles) and Lorne DeLong (Lorraine); a son-in-law, William
Snow; her grandchildren, Kyle (Amanda), Josie (Bill), Sarah (Joe),
Matthew (Andrea), Jessica and Katie; her great grandchildren, Ethan,
Avery, Ben, Hannah, Ruby, Ari, Meadow and JJ; three sisters, Anna
Hansen (Dale), Phyllis Richter (Norm) and Donna Bresnahan (Emmet);
sisters-in-law, June Gould, Viola Jarvis and Beth DeLong; a
brother-in-law, Aubrey DeLong (Janice) and several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, a daughter Lynn DeLong,
sisters Alberta, Winnie, Ruth, a brother Olin and a brother-in-law
Carl.
Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive,
Nackawic, NB on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 3 to 7 p.m. A funeral
service will be held at St. Mark’s United Church, 99 Main
Street, Canterbury, NB on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 2 p.m. with
Rev. Greg Williams officiating. A reception will follow in the church
fellowship hall. Interment will take place at a later date.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Barbara, the family
has suggested St. Mark’s United Church.
