Obituary
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Avis Cecilia (Robichaud) Dempster which occurred at the Loch Lomond Village on Saturday, December 28th, 2019. Born 1925, in Digby, NS, raised in St. Andrews, NB, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Jane (Comeau) Robichaud. Avis worked as a Psychiatric Nurse at Centracare for many years and was Owner and Operator of Avis Ceramics with her husband Donald. She enjoyed dancing, singing, knitting and watching soap operas. Avis loved cats, especially her beloved Snowball.
Avis is survived by her daughters Eileen Burbridge (Richard) of Saint John, Carol Doiron (Ed) of Saint John; son Arthur Dempster of Saint John; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her parents, Avis was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald, daughter Mary, son Donald and constant companion and her love for 20+ years, David Cooper. She was also predeceased by her siblings Arnold, Eric, Adrian, Dorothy, Doris, Bernice, Marian, and Reginald.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Monday, December 30th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will take from the Fundy Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday, December 31st at 11 a.m. with visitation 1 hour prior to service. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
