Obituary of Alma Wilma Wisniewski
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alma on December 27, 2019. Her husband of 45 years, Bill and her daughters Kim and Chris were by her side.
Alma grew up on the family farm outside of Otthon, learning the value of hard work. She always joked how they didn’t get running water or a TV until after she moved away from home. After high school, Alma moved to the ‘Big City’ and got a job fixing telephones. It was in Regina where she met Bill and he swept her off her feet. They were married in October 1974 and moved into their home in Disley – where they raised Kim and Chrissy. Alma loved her garden and was always canning or freezing something. Alma also enjoyed baking, crochet, and was a regular, selling her handiwork at the Snowflake Bazaar in Lumsden. She loved her grandsons Parker, Jaden and Colton dearly and was so proud of everything they had already accomplished. She loved going to their baseball and hockey games; you didn’t dare try to interrupt Mama while she was watching her boys play their games. As Alma’s mobility continued to decline, we were amazed at her ability to continue trying to live her life to the fullest. She was very proud and hated asking for help with anything. Through all of Alma’s medical hardships, she always was able to see the silver lining in everything and made sure we did the same. Her resiliency, compassion and courage will live on with her family as we learn to live each day going forward without her.
