Albert Andrew “Andy” Dean
1931-2019
Dean, Albert Andrew “Andy” – age 88, of
Kentville, NS passed away December 10, 2019 at the home of his
daughter, Louise (Barry) Schaffner in Kingsport. Born on February 21,
1931 in Reigate, Surrey, England, he was the son of the late George
Albert and Selina (Hurst) Dean. Andy retired from a lengthy career in
food service management in 1992 and resided in Port Joli,
Queen’s Co., NS for many years. He was an ardent amateur
naturalist and his hobbies included photography, bird carving, and
acrylic painting. Predeceased by his wife, Lelia (O’Brien)
in 2013, he is survived by his children, Anne (Craig)
O’Donnell, Port Williams; Anthony “Tony”
(Bette), London, ON; Linda Galloway, Charlottetown; Louise (Barry)
Schaffner, Kingsport; Kevin (Dawne), Arlington; Karen (Noel) Doiron,
Charlottetown; Kenneth (Sandi), Kingsport; many
grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Mills, England.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request.
A family celebration of Andy’s life will take place at a
later date. A huge thank you to Barry Schaffner and the
medical team who provided such wonderful care. Donations may be made
to The Valley Cardiac Rehab Society, 150 Exhibition Street, Kentville,
NS B4N 5E3. Arrangements have been entrusted to
the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
