1941-2019
It is with broken hearts that the family of John Henry Rumson
Jr. of Norton announce his passing on December 1, 2019 at the Saint
John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John in 1941, John was the son
of the late John Henry Sr. and Carrie (Rossiter) Rumson and was a
retired employee of Irving Pulp and Paper.
John is survived by his wife Rose (Hayward) (Horne) Rumson,
his 3 children; Kim Rumson of Saint John, Rhonda Rumson of Rothesay
and Kyle Rumson of Ripples NB., also his 2 step-children; Matthew
Horne (Linda) of Saskatchewan and Gena Blakney (Tom) of Saint John, 2
siblings; Joan Lafford of Hopewell Cape and David Rumson (Angela) of
Saint John, 10 grandchildren; Chad, Devin, Kelsey, Christopher,
Chase,Joel, Josh, Jonah, Jasper and Gemal and 3 great grandchildren;
OParker, Jaxon and Zoey, also 2 sisters’ in law and several
nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by 2 brothers; Hartford and Douglas
Rumson.
Resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute
Centre (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, on Thursday from 3 to 5
and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at
Atlantic Community Church in Apohaqui, on Friday, December 6, 2019, at
11:00 a.m., followed by interment in Midland Cemetery.
Donations to the Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke
Foundation of NB or to a the memorial of the donor’s choice
