Obituary of George Joshua Twyne
It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of George Joshua Twyne, loving and devoted husband to Blanche Twyne, which occurred December 25, 2019 at the Central NL Health Hospital with Blanche, cousin Daniel and friend Joan by his side.
Born in Bear Cove, Green Bay, NL on August 15, 1939. George was the son of the late Herbert and Cinderella Twyne. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Francis; brothers-in-laws: Harry, Bob, Barry and Stafford; sisters-in-law: Judy and Elsie; parents-in-law Martha and Thomas Moores and hunting buddy and long-time neighbor Merle Brett.
In additional to his loving wife Blanche of 48 years, he is survived by his daughter, Colinda Ryan (Warran); son, Lenny; grandchildren: Rikkie Burden (Kelsie), David Ryan and Rikita Twyne; great-granddaughter Peyton Burden; brothers and sisters: Daphne, Alonzo (Lori), Ella, Pansey (Terry), Ronald (Peggy), Martha (Paul), Douglas (Gloria); brother-in-law Richmond; sister-in-law Thelma (Hubert). Also special family and friends: Denecka Burden, Daniel Randell, Joanie King, Carl and Selma Strangemore, Theresa Brett, Mike and Tara Hillier, the Cabin Boys and a very large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
George spent 57 years in St. Anthony where he met and married is loving wife and raised his family. For 27 years he worked at FPI Ltd. and loved to spend his spare time at the cabin. In 2012 they moved here to Grand Falls-Windsor. Since then they spent their summers in the camper at Triple Falls. A doting husband, an amazing father, loving grandfather and great-grandfather and always a big brother to his siblings. George will be greatly missed.
Public Visitation Friday 7-9 and Saturday 2-4 with his celebration of life being held at Hoskins Funeral Home, 12 Earle Street, Grand Falls-Windsor on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 2 p.m.
